What is the Cost?

Unlike some Loss Assessors, we can manage the whole claim right through to completion and our loss assessing service is *free to the policyholder, providing we can use our vetted contractors to carry out the reinstatement works. However, any excess stated within the policy will still apply and is payable by you, the policyholder.

If you are a VAT registered company or individual, please be aware you are responsible for paying the VAT of the settlement, however, you can claim this from HMRC on your next VAT return.

Featured Claim

A residential property in Maidenhead, Berkshire suffered from widespread water damage as a result of a burst pipe in the Kitchen. The leak caused damage to not only the Kitchen, but the rest of the ground floor including the living area and bathroom.

Thankfully, Aspray’s representatives in Maidenhead were on site quickly to locate the leak and initiated urgent repair work to the pipe to prevent further damage.

An escape of water peril needs to be dealt with as soon as possible, so that the moisture related to the peril has less time to penetrate core materials of the property structure.

Material that could not be salvaged was stripped and replaced, while other areas of the property underwent a thorough drying process. Our representatives are trained in deploying industry standard drying techniques, as recommended by the BDMA, which prevents further damage from appearing later on.

As a policyholder, you can relax knowing that not only is your claim being managed on your behalf, but expert measures are also undertaken to prevent future hassle related to the initial escape of water peril.

What is the difference between a Loss Assessor and a Loss Adjuster?

Aspray Loss Assessor with speech

A Loss Assessor works in the best interests of the policyholder.
Sometimes known as a public Loss Adjuster, a Loss Assessor manages property damage insurance claims on behalf of the policyholder, working towards achieving a fair settlement from the insurance company.

Loss Assessor works on behalf of the insurer

A Loss Adjuster is appointed on behalf of the insurance company.
When instructed by an insurance company, a Loss Adjuster will assess the damage to your property and, if they deem the damage liable under your insurance policy, will work with your insurance company to provide settlement figure.

Damage assessment
Your local loss assessor will put together a schedule of works following an inspection of the damage at your property.

Claims management
Managing the insurance company and tradespeople can be tricky. Aspray (Maidenhead and Guildford) will manage the claim on your behalf from inception to completion.

If applicable, Aspray (Maidenhead and Guildford) can arrange any temporary accommodation, loss of income or loss of rent as part of your building’s insurance claim.
