Barry started Aspray (Luton) in September 2014 and launched his business to over 70 local companies at a successful networking event, attended by The Mayor of Luton, helping raise hundreds of pounds on the evening for Luton based charities Race for Life & Level Trust, since then the business has grown through word of mouth, exhibitions and networking all around his territory of Luton and North Hertfordshire.
Prior to joining Aspray, Barry worked as a surveyor and has been actively involved in property refurbishment programmes since 2001. His experience before running Aspray (Luton) was running sales, marketing and project management of commercial, domestic and public-sector homes, ranging from kitchen and bathroom refits, disabled adaptations, roofing & roofline, insulation, renewable energy, painting & decoration & gas boiler installations and through this wealth of knowledge, felt it was important to him, when selecting his next career move, that he stuck with what he knew - How to manage property refurbishment and helping customers achieve their goals.
From the outset of your property claim, Barry will explain in detail the claims service process. He will take on the management of your claim, providing you with regular updates on progress on what can be a very complex and potentially stressful time. Barry will ensure you are always kept up to date with progress, all phone calls to & from insurers will be handled by him, who will be your one main point of contact. Barry will then appoint pre-vetted Contractors to reinstate your property back to its pre-loss condition. On completion, your property reinstatement will be signed-off by Barry, who will visit the site. to ensure you’re 100% satisfied with all the work carried out.
To date, Barry has managed hundreds of claims all over the Luton, Stevenage, Hitchin and Letchworth areas, varying from small collapsed brick walls to major fire and water damage. A loss assessor works in the best interests of the policyholder. Sometimes known as a public loss adjuster, a loss assessor manages property damage insurance claims on behalf of the policyholder, working towards achieving a fair settlement from the insurance company.
In 2005, it became a legal requirement for all loss assessors to be regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to ensure that insurance claim management meets specific standards. Aspray Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and can be found on the FCA Register.

When instructed by an insurance company, a loss adjuster will assess the damage to your property and, if they deem the damage liable under your insurance policy, will work with your insurance company to provide settlement figure. Loss adjusters are often appointed when the claim is of a significant size and will visit your property to determine the cause of damage.
Any loss adjuster appointed will be paid directly by your insurance provider, therefore, many claimants worry that they may not receive an impartial assessment. This is where a claimant may decide to appoint a loss assessor who will aim look after their interests.
