Our claim for water damage to the ceiling of our flat from the terrace above was dealt with in its entirety by Alex Ward.
From the outset he was friendly, helpful, informative, supportive our needs and was always available to deal with any issue.
He “ project managed” our repairs with the various trades and the end result was that our flat was restored to its former unblemished state without a trace of the previous water damage.
An excellent job from start to finish. Many thanks. We would highly recommend Alex’s services to any future potential clients.
I am very grateful to Alex Ward who managed the repair of my flat after the leak. It had a tenant in the flat and Alex organized the work at the most convenient time for her. Since 2005 I have gained over 12 years’ experience, within the building industry. After university, I worked for several years alongside my Uncle, within his building and construction company and gained valuable experience, working with different trades on extensions, flat and loft conversions, restoration and refurbishment projects.
I started working as a project manager for a reputable kitchen and joinery manufacturer and distributer in 2007. Managing kitchen installations and new business representation. I gained essential experience in managing building projects and trades people to ensure a high-quality finish to all the building projects that I managed. I became a kitchen specialist, well trained in kitchen design and installation and furthered my experience of the building industry. I undertook various roles within the company in several locations and gained valuable area management and company representation skills until moving to a well-known builders’ merchants in 2013.
Here I gained valuable building materials experience undergoing essential training in their application and worked with builders to provide material estimations and quotations. I used my experience to follow architectural specifications and worked with architects, site managers, contractors and general builders as a sales executive until promotion to branch manager later that year. During the last 4 years as branch manager, I have gained industry recognised ILM qualifications in leadership and management and passed various health and safety and site management courses. I also gained valuable business and people management skills and understand the need to provide a safe working environment for the people I am responsible for in practice and the legislation and procedures that must be followed to comply with current regulations.
In 2017, I decided to put all my experience, management skills, expertise and knowledge of how buildings are designed and repaired to better use and became part of the Aspray network, operating the Aspray (Salisbury) territory. I have lived locally to Winchester all my life and aim to respond to claims in a professional and timely manner. Using my building industry knowledge and experience of all trades, I always aim to negotiate a fair settlement on behalf of my clients, including completing the reinstatement works as swiftly as possible.
I have first-hand experience in managing trades working in my own home and the levels of respect and expectation required to achieve satisfactory results having restored, refurbished and sold my own properties. I have a keen eye for a quality finish and high expectations from my vetted contractors.
I am proud to be part of an awarding winning team at Aspray, who are an industry leader in property damage claims management.
Water damage is one of the most common causes of residential or commercial buildings insurance claims. A leaky or frozen pipe can sometimes lead to extensive, and sometimes expensive, damage to your property and its contents.
If you experience water damage, Aspray could help by negotiating with your insurance company or their loss adjuster, drying out your property if necessary and instructing vetted contractors to complete reinstatement works.
Suffering a fire in your residential or commercial property can be destressing and the damage caused can, in some cases, be catastrophic. Aspray could help restore your home or business to its pre-loss condition, providing a helping hand when you may need it most.
Where applicable, if your residential property is damaged an Aspray loss assessor will arrange temporary accommodation for yourself and your family should you be unable to remain in your property while repairs are carried out.
Adverse weather conditions are out of your control and a severe storm can cause damage to various aspects of your residential or commercial property. High winds, heavy rain, hail and snow can all potentially cause harmful effects to your home or business, from broken roof tiles to an uprooted tree landing on your house or business.
Damage caused by a storm can take many forms however, our project managers are experienced at reinstating properties that have been affected by extreme weather conditions.
Extreme floods have been prominent across the UK over the past few years, with home and business owners suffering extensive damage, leaving them without a habitable property for extended periods of time.
If your property has been flooded, Aspray (Salisbury) could, were applicable, arrange temporary accommodation and begin organising the cleaning and stripping of fixtures, fittings and furnishings that have been damaged because of the flood.
Predominately caused by a vehicle colliding with your residential or commercial property or boundary, the physical damage of impact can be big enough and Aspray (Salisbury) understand that the emotional impact could be even greater. The property owner can usually recover the cost of the damage under their own policy and then your insurances can often pursue a recovery of costs against the offending motorist.

Our most frequently asked question - What is the difference between a Loss Assessor and a Loss Adjuster?
A loss assessor works in the best interests of the policyholder. Sometimes known as a public loss adjuster, a loss assessor manages property damage insurance claims on behalf of the policyholder, working towards achieving a fair settlement from the insurance company.
In 2005, it became a legal requirement for all loss assessors to be regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to ensure that insurance claim management meets specific standards. Aspray Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and can be found on the FCA Register.
An Aspray loss assessor goes beyond simply negotiating and agreeing your claim with the insurer, they also project manage all repair works, reinstating your property to its pre-loss condition as swiftly as possible.
A loss adjuster is appointed on behalf of the insurance company. When instructed by an insurance company, a loss adjuster will assess the damage to your property and, if they deem the damage liable under your insurance policy, will work with your insurance company to provide settlement figure. Loss adjusters are often appointed when the claim is of a significant size and will visit your property to determine the cause of damage.
Any loss adjuster appointed will be paid directly by your insurance provider, therefore, many claimants worry that they may not receive an impartial assessment. This is where a claimant may decide to appoint a loss assessor who will aim look after their interests.
Instructing Aspray (Salisbury) will provide you with a dedicated and experienced loss assessor who will put your interests first.
