My name is Sara Holmes and I operate Aspray (Sunderland).
I have lived, studied and worked in the North East all of my life and use my experience, knowledge and network to help insurance Policyholders to manage insurance claims and property reinstatement works from inception to completion.
I graduated with MA in Housing Policy and Management and after starting work in the management department of a large housing association, I quickly realised that my interest lay in the bricks and mortar of housing. I was lucky that my employer recognised my project management skills and moved me into the development department to help with a big demolition project and I have never looked back.
I have worked for over 20 years in property development and have developed an in-depth knowledge of buildings, contractors and costs across Sunderland and the North East. I have a can-do attitude and love being able to use my skills to bring people together, solve problems and to deliver results.
Before joining Aspray, I managed new build and refurbishment projects for housing associations, local councils and private house builders with values ranging from £1 to £35m.
Many of my projects have been in areas of significant regeneration, where engaging existing residents, some of whom have been very upset, has been key to getting it right, leaving a lasting legacy behind which has been very challenging at times. I am a good listener and use tact and diplomacy when interpreting concerns, instructing designers and presenting ideas back to people.
Outside of work I enjoy being away from it all surrounded by hills and open countryside walking away the hours and enjoying the fresh air with my husband Ben and our daughter Anya. I am also a keen cook and enjoy entertaining friends and family taking any opportunity I can to get everyone together.

A loss assessor works in the best interests of the policyholder. Sometimes known as a public loss adjuster, a loss assessor manages property damage insurance claims on behalf of the policyholder, working towards achieving a fair settlement from the insurance company.

Any loss adjuster appointed will be paid directly by your insurance provider, therefore, many claimants worry that they may not receive an impartial assessment. This is where a claimant may decide to appoint a loss assessor who will aim look after their interests.
