We swept to victory in the ‘Best Product for Landlords’ category, in which we were shortlisted along with three other businesses (https://www.national-lis-awards.co.uk/shortlist/). Some of our field loss assessors from London and the south were absolutely delighted to take to the stage at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London, to be presented with this prestigious award, on Aspray head office’s behalf.
Aspray is delighted that the LIS Awards’ judges recognised how much added-value Aspray provides to landlords who suffer property damage. This could be caused by a variety of factors, such as bad weather or flooding, an internal escape of water, fire, vandalism or tenant damage, or even because of a vehicle impact. All of these can trigger a property claim if the landlord has insurance, which is where Aspray can step in to deliver our award-winning service.
We become both the voice and physical representative of the insured landlord in the insurance negotiations surrounding such scenarios, whether contacted directly by the landlord, or introduced to them via a property and letting agent or insurance broker seeking to add their own value to their service to clients.
Rather than having all the distress of progressing a claim solo, the landlord can leave everything to our loss assessing property claims specialist, who handles all negotiations with the insurer’s representative, the loss adjuster, on the landlord’s behalf, both at the premises and off-site.
Landlords’ property claims service in action
Bringing years of experience with them, an Aspray property claims loss assessor adjudges what is a fair settlement and what the schedule of works to repair the damage suffered should be. They can firmly refer the loss adjuster to the smallprint of the insurance policy, if they feel the cover described is not being delivered through the offer made to the insured landlord.
Our loss assessors strive to gain the insured property owner the full entitlement from the insurance protection they bought, being firm but fair in all negotiations. This costs the insured nothing, if they work with our Aspray-approved and trusted contractors for the property reinstatement. Our service brings huge relief, enabling affected tenants to have their rented home repaired in the swiftest way possible, with a good level of workmanship, and provides the landlord with peace of mind, knowing all the benefits they paid for when buying insurance were considered during the negotiations.
The national Landlord Investment Show award endorses our decision to build our business on a Treating Customers Fairly ethos, which delivers first-class service to all clients, regardless of whether they are private homeowners, landlords, or commercial property portfolio holders.
Our success at the LIS Awards adds to the kudos of having our director, Andrea Loasby, named a ‘Woman of Influence’ in the insurance sector this year and also being shortlisted for the Insurance Times Claims Excellence Awards for the third year in a row.
Andrea Loasby says: “The whole Aspray team has had a great morale boost from winning this prestigious award. It is particularly appreciated, as our service to landlords sometimes goes under the radar, despite it being of tremendous benefit to any type of landlord, anywhere in the country.
“Without our assistance, landlords face a higher probability of their property claim being repudiated – turned down in layman’s terms – which is an outcome that can run into thousands of pounds of loss for the property owner. It is fantastic to know that our service has been adjudged to be of tremendous value to landlords and hope this may lead to us working with more customers in the commercial property and buy-to-let markets, potentially preventing them from being short-changed by the offer the insurer makes for their property reinstatement.”
