Hidden Water Damage Caused Catastrophic Effects
This case study is a prime example of how hidden water damage can cause catastrophic effects on a property and its neighbouring properties.
The property featured in this escape of water claim is part of a multi-million pound block of flats in historical Whitechapel.
Four properties in the block of flats were affected by this leak, which for a great length of time went undetected. When Aspray’s representatives in East London were called to manage the claim, their first course of action was to trace and access the pipework causing the leak.

Aspray were also able to recover the loss of rent as a result of the damage.
Once the source of the leak was discovered and dealt with by Aspray’s vetted contractors, the property needed to undergo a specialist drying treatment using equipment recommended by the BDMA.
As part of the claim, Aspray were also able to recover the loss of rent as a result of the damage. It goes without saying, the policyholder was more than happy with how Aspray led negotiations with the insurer.
