When a Burst Pipe Causes Chaos, We’re Here to Help
When your property has been damaged by water, gaining a quick understanding of the extent of the damage and beginning the drying process is crucial. Your Aspray Loss Assessor can identify how far the water has spread and also potentially uncover hidden damage, which will help your insurance claim.
Aspray has extensive experience managing escape of water claims for homeowners, landlords, and business owners. Your local Loss Assessor can assess the damage, prepare a detailed scope of works, liaise with your insurer, and manage the approved reinstatement works using vetted contractors.
Why Choose Aspray?
Finding the source of a leak is often the first step towards recovery. We can arrange specialist leak detection to help identify the cause of the damage while reducing unnecessary disturbance to your property.
Water can travel far beyond what is visible. We help identify hidden damage that could otherwise be overlooked, helping ensure your claim reflects the full extent of the loss.
Effective drying is essential to prevent further issues and support a successful repair. We work with specialist contractors to help ensure the right drying process is followed.

"I have a flat that suffered serious and extensive water damage from the flat above. Aspray handled the repair and all dealings with insurance companies. They were straightforward to deal with, with a single point of contact. The renovation was completed to a high standard and, once they has access to the apartment, were quick and efficient. Aspray made a potentially stressful situation, stress free. A big thank you Lindsey for her support and clear communication throughout the process."

Escape of Water FAQ
I need to make a claim for an escape of water. What should I do?
First, try to stop further damage. Turn off the water at the mains if it is safe to do so, and call an emergency plumber if needed.
You should notify your insurer that damage has occurred, as most policies require prompt reporting. You can contact Aspray at the same time, or just before you speak to your insurer, so we can guide you through the next steps.
Call 0800 077 6705 to speak to the Aspray team.
How much does the Aspray service cost for escape of water claims?
Aspray’s loss assessing service is free to the policyholder, provided you appoint Aspray to carry out the approved reinstatement works using our vetted contractors.
You will still need to pay any policy excess. If you are VAT registered, you may also be responsible for paying VAT on the settlement, which you may then be able to reclaim from HMRC.
Do I still need to pay my excess if I appoint Aspray?
Yes. The excess stated in your policy still applies.
Your excess is the amount you agree to pay towards the claim before your insurer contributes. The amount should be shown in your policy schedule. Once the final settlement has been agreed with your insurer, your Aspray Loss Assessor will arrange collection of the excess payment.
Who can Aspray assist with water damage claims?
Aspray can assist property owners making a claim under their buildings insurance policy. This includes homeowners, landlords, and business owners.
If your property has suffered water damage and you want help managing the claim, call Aspray on 0800 077 6705. Your local Loss Assessor can inspect the damage, help validate the claim, and liaise with your insurer.
Why do I need Aspray if my insurers have already appointed a loss adjuster?
An insurer’s loss adjuster acts on behalf of the insurance company. Aspray acts on behalf of you, the policyholder.
Your Loss Assessor can assess the damage, prepare the claim, deal with insurer communication, negotiate the settlement, and manage the reinstatement works once agreed.
How long will my Escape of Water claim take?
The length of the claim depends on the cause of the leak, the extent of the damage, the drying process, insurer response times, and the repairs needed.
Aspray can help move the claim forward by gathering evidence, preparing the scope of works, chasing updates, and managing communication with your insurer.
What can I do if my Escape of Water claim is rejected?
If your insurer rejects the claim, Aspray can review the decision at no cost and advise whether we may be able to help challenge the outcome.
Where we can assist, we can help gather further evidence and present the claim again on your behalf.
Can you help if my Escape of Water insurance claim is already in progress?
No matter the stage of your claim, give our claims support team a call. We can support your claim if you are struggling to reach a settlement with your insurer.
