Severe Flooding Halts Operations Across the Centre

The storm surge caused significant flooding throughout the site. The administration building was inundated, disrupting essential office operations. Stores and food storage areas were also affected, necessitating immediate action to protect vital supplies. Meanwhile, the external yard and older buildings, including the sewage treatment works, were covered with several inches of water, complicating recovery efforts. Despite the extent of the damage, the organisation’s team, supported by its partners, acted quickly to address the crisis.

Proudly Supporting CYE’s 40th Anniversary Birthday Gala

Aspray was proud to sponsor CYE’s 40th Anniversary Celebration, marking four decades of adventure, learning, and youth development. The milestone event was more than a celebration of CYE’s history. It also highlighted the organisation’s lasting impact on generations of young people through character-building experiences on and off the water.

Aspray’s sponsorship reflects our commitment to organisations that add real value to their communities. By supporting CYE, we recognise the importance of giving young people opportunities that build confidence, teamwork, and resilience. The partnership also shows our belief in standing alongside charities that inspire growth, prepare young people for life, and strengthen community connections.

“After nearly 40 years of exciting youthwork, disaster struck when CYE’s site and buildings were hit by major flooding from a storm surge.

With the help of Aspray, we were able to return to our charitable activities within two weeks. These organisations then saw us through the whole insurance claim and rebuild process, leaving us in an even stronger position than before.

We are grateful for their diligence, care and commitment to turning crisis into opportunity.”
